Liza's mom tells the story of how we met as if it was High School Musical (“well he was on basketball, and she was a poms dancer…”). The truth is nerdier; we met through Latin (language) Club at our high school, Northside College Prep. We became good friends later, through the school’s hip-hop dance team, where Liza helped Spencer understand this thing called “rhythm”. We began dating during senior year.

Luckily, after high school, we went to the same college, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Away from home, we became each other’s support. We studied hard together, traveled together, and knew then that we had found a partner for life.
In 2015, Liza and Spencer took a trip to New Orleans for Liza’s birthday. While there, on a balcony of a small hotel in the French Quarter after much sumptuous feasting, we got engaged.
Currently, we are both back in school, pursuing the Ponzi scheme that is the American educational system. We still enjoy dancing, traveling, playing board games and D&D together, and lots of eating.
